 Impedance Transforming 90 Degree Hybrid Coupler
Innovative Power Products introduces its Model IPP-4011 impedance transforming, high power, 3dB, 90 degree hybrid coupler. The coupler covers the 1000-2500 MHz frequency range and will combine two signals up to 300 Watts CW of total output power. Unlike the typical quadrature hybrids which have 50 Ohm impedance at all four ports, this new patent-pending design provides two ports at 50 Ohms and the other two ports at 25 Ohms. The impedance transformation takes place inside the coupler thus allowing it to be used in mixed impedance systems. The impedance transforming coupler is ideal for splitting and combing of Mimics which have 25 Ohm input and output impedances. The coupler is produced in a drop-in style package size of 2.2 x 0.8 x 0.23 inch with solder tab connections. Insertion loss is less than 0.5 dB, phase balance is less than +/-5 degrees, VSWR is less than 1.30:1, amplitude balance is less than ±0.9 dB and greater than 14 dB of isolation.
